Catalog description

This course examines the historical development of United States schools, exploring how issues of race, class, gender, ethnicity, and systems of power have impacted the educational system. Students will learn methods for teaching about these topics in a K-12/5-12 classroom. Students will explore strategies that have resulted in lasting change in education and to plan activities which civically engage learners and that support rights and dignity for all.
