Catalog description

An introductory course focusing on ethical and legal standards and requirements of the human services (HS) profession and ethical standards for the Addiction Treatment Counselor. Emphasizes the relationship of values in the role of the HS professional, and includes the areas of practice, training, supervision, and consultation. Examines various professional ethical standards and codes of conduct. Identifies confidentiality laws and ethical standards including the Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) 42 Part 2, as it relates to the provision of treatment for substance use and addictive disorders.
