An introduction to the field of Native American Studies focusing on the histories, cultures, identities, and contemporary concerns of Indigenous peoples in North America, with a particular emphasis on the United States. Topics include colonialism, tribal sovereignty, historiography, popular representation, economic development, environmental justice, urbanization, ethnic identity, racialization, language, belief systems, and cultural diversity. Also listed as ANTH 4. Credit given in either area, not both.
