Catalog description
Financial literacy for small businesses and individuals. Includes skills related to managing personal finances, budgeting, tracking spending and investing, creating and achieving financial goals, insurance, debt, credit, compound interest, and time value of money. Investment topics include common and preferred stock, government and corporate bonds, mutual funds, real estate, and other financial securities. Also covered are structure and operation of financial markets, financial and investment information gathering, and using management tools for investing. Lifelong financial planning, comprehensive insurance coverage, tax planning, paying for college, pension, retirement, and estate planning issues are addressed, as well as effects of achieving/not achieving financial security on psychological and physiological health.
