Independent Study in Devised Performance

Catalog description

This course is intended for students to activate their own curiosity and develop a learning plan to enrich the rest of their work within the program while expanding on a particular area of interest. While each Independent Study will be different, the student must provide a written proposal to be approved by the Program Director, outlining the central questions to be considered, the  method of researching those questions, and the outcome of the study.  There are three possible culminating projects that will result from an Independent Study: a performance, an essay/paper, a presentation of research. Students will work alongside a faculty advisor for the Independent Study to outline the learning goals and to assess progress throughout the semester.
