Voice II
Rowan University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The Voice II course (Advanced Voice) is both a deepening of the vocal work done in the first year as well as an exploration of the range and capacity for vocal clarity and exploration in live performance. Beyond continuing to train the performer’s spoken voice, the course will address integrating performer's voices in unison to support dramatic work, especially in a unit on melodrama as well as clown and fantasy/mystery. Voice II prepares students for professional acting work where the actor’s voice is an essential tool toward embodiment, emotional expression, and effective transformation. The course draws from Roy Hart, FItzmaurice, and Linklater, among other voice methodologies and techniques.
