Clinical Experience and Seminar in Special Education
Rowan University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course is designed to be taken as the final course in the track of the MA program or stand-alone program. Students must show evidence of being employed in a P-12 classroom with regular access to at least a few students with IEPs. To optimize supports for children and youth with disabilities, students will engage in self-reflections, seek formal feedback on a lesson plan/their teaching from an in-district SPED-certified tenured colleague, and connect with peers in small groups to discuss teaching experiences, timely issues, and problem-solving strategies. A comprehensive exam, as well as funds of knowledge and field-based assignments will be required to apply evidence-based recommended, inclusive practices in the classroom setting.
