Every day you are faced with moral decisions, many of them quite difficult. This course provides tools with which students will be able to think about moral issues more carefully and clearly. Philosophers approach specific moral issues by making use of theories and applying them to the real world. This applied ethics course will address various rotating topics, such as animal rights, free speech and censorship, technology, social media, punishment and human rights, aesthetics, medical ethics, social justice, and other active areas of moral and social concern. This course fulfills the Rowan Core Humanistic Literacy and the Rowan Experience Broad-Based Literature requirement.
