Clinical Practice I in Inclusive Education

Catalog description

Clinical Practice I is the first field-based course of the Clinical Practice Year for Inclusive Education Majors. It is a supervised, 2-3 days a week internship conducted in a public elementary inclusive education program. In this course, candidates will work with cooperating teachers and supervisors to plan whole class and small group lessons, use multiple instructional and assessment strategies, manage classroom activity, work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, families, and the community, and provide evidence documenting teaching tasks. University supervisors conduct observations to support effective literacy and mathematics instruction. This course is graded as Pass/No Credit, with a “Pass” indicating a grade of B- or better.
