The design of this course focuses on the concept of leadership in healthcare settings. This course will introduce students to traits in leadership, leadership skills and theories, creating vision, managing conflict, and negotiations. Students will assess their personal leadership styles by using case studies to explore techniques, practices, system management, and strategic planning to address the challenges and opportunities facing healthcare leaders and institutions. This course will equip students with insight into accountable care by examining the critical role that health data, informatics, and strategic management play in leadership.
