Catalog description
This course provides a foundation of the business side of healthcare. The course introduces students to the role of healthcare managers with a focus on managerial skills and knowledge, and provides an overview of the history, challenges, and opportunities facing healthcare administrators. The curriculum explores the differences between the structure of nonprofit and for-profit healthcare providers, and key concepts such as financial management, marketing and communication, and leadership that facilitate the operation and organization of the institution. Course material will focus on knowledge, skills, and real-world applications for healthcare managers and administrators.
