Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the health care system, delivery of care, and the quality of care. Parts of the course will emphasize payment, delivery, and emerging health care issues including: quality measurement, patient safety, and technological advancement and understanding incentives that drive health care quality and delivery decisions such as financing, public programs, consumer safety, and economic incentives in health care. The course will emphasize the impact of various federal and state implications for providers, payers, and consumers within larger healthcare systems and understand, analyze, evaluate options and best practices for addressing health care delivery and quality issues.
