Data Analytics in Healthcare Management

Catalog description
This introductory level course provides foundational skills and knowledge in healthcare data analytics that will acclimate students with the use of technology in the capture, delivery, and analysis of health data. The course focuses on the use of electronic health records, data mining, statistical collection of health data, quality data management, report generation and health data project management that enables decision-making. Students will also focus on information governance strategies in the healthcare field and information planning throughout a healthcare organization. Students will analyze clinical information and data to identify trends of quality, safety, and effectiveness of healthcare.
