Computer Science Research I

Catalog description

This course introduces students to real-world computer science research. The class covers core research topics specifically applied to computer science. These topics include: research principles, types and areas of research, developing research ideas, research publications and venues, technical research workflows, research authorship and collaboration, research ethics and integrity, reproducible research, peer reviews, research compliance and safety, reading and writing research papers, research surveys and tutorials, presenting research, and using research tools. Additionally, the class exposes students to real-world research activities and labs and helps them develop a detailed plan for hands-on research.
