Communicating Gender

Catalog description

This course will introduce students to the basic concepts, theories, and ideologies that exist at the intersection of gender, communication, and culture. Focus will be given to the ways in which gender, as a social construction, is created and performed in and through communication contexts. Students will also consider their own experience as gendered communicators while studying varying perspectives of gender from a communication perspective.
