BMV 09390 – Work in Progress Portfolio Review is a required zero-credit milestone course in the BFA in Biomedical Visualization program that assesses student progress at the mid-point of the curriculum. Typically taken in the third year, students present a curated portfolio of in-progress and completed work from sophomore- and junior-level BMV studio courses. The review functions as a formative assessment, emphasizing reflection, critique, and professional readiness. Students receive structured faculty feedback on creative development, technical proficiency, scientific accuracy, and visual communication across medical and scientific illustration, digital imaging, 3D modeling, surgical media, and interactive visualization.
