PHAR 733
Biological Therapeutics in Autoimmune Disease and Cancer
Roseman University of Health Sciences · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The immune system usually protects us from infection, yet in autoimmune, inflammatory diseases immune cells and molecules attack self-antigen bearing tissues/ organs leading to damage and loss of their function. Cancer is a multi-faceted disease in which failure of immune surveillance to detect and destroy cancerous growth has been implicated. Biological antibody drugs targeting inflammatory pathways and immune checkpoint molecules are increasingly used successfully to treat autoimmune diseases and cancer. In this course we will discuss recent advances in biological drugs in the treatment of autoimmune diseases and cancers. Cr. Hr.: 3
