Catalog description

This course provides students with an overview of informatics and the theoretical foundation for information management within the health care setting. The impact of automated data management through advances in information technology, healthcare information systems, and telehealth are explored. During the course students explore informatics theory and practices as a foundation for the development of databases for evidence-based practices. Related ethical, regulatory, and legal issues are explored. 3 credits didactic.
