Catalog description

Clinical Practice 1 (CP 1) integrates clinical sciences, health-systems science, and early experiential learning. This course develops skills in history-taking, communication, physical examination, verbal and written documentation, clinical reasoning, and interprofessional collaboration. Additional areas of focus include complexity and systems thinking, social determinants of health, health and healthcare disparities, teamwork, population health, quality improvement, patient safety, and systems-based practice. Experiential learning is reinforced through GENESIS and the clinical care preceptorship, including household-centered care, social service navigation, care coordination, and observing practicing clinicians in the community.
