Section information text: Computational data analysis is an essential part of modern statistics.This course provides a practical foundation for students to compute with data.This course will introduce students to tools for data management, manipulation and analysis that are common in statistics and data science.The R computing language will be introduced.Topics will include data structures in R, writing functions, webscraping, data cleaning (both quantitative and textual data), processing unstructured data, static and interactive graphical presentations of data, and coding of modern algorithms for data analysis (bootstrapping and Monte Carlo methods).
