Section information text: Codes and regulations provide a baseline of expectation for civil engineering practice, and in turn, engineers influence the codes and regulations to create new best practices. This course examines how civil engineers interact with public policy and the legal system to work within CE codes and regulations. This course also includes discussion around the ASCE Code of Ethics and how it relates to the need for community engagement, professional norms, and professional best practices that impact engineering practice.
