Catalog description
This course is a continuation of the previous course in the principles of biochemistry and genetics. Diseases will be discussed from genetic, metabolic and/or nutritional viewpoints and compared with normal biochemical processes. The course will explain pa thologies at the molecular level and will emphasize certain biochemical principles related to the eye. It will provide the student with the level of contemporary knowledge base that will lead to an understanding of the etiologies and implications of metabolic and inherited conditions with ocular and visual implications.
