Catalog description

This course introduces students to fly fishing skills which includes identifying trout species, understanding trout behavior and trout habitat, basic entomology and hatch calendar, recognizing common artificial wet and dry patterns, tying wet and dry fly patterns, viewing some popular trout streams in the northeast and western United States, and reading stream conditions. This course includes hands-on sessions for fly casting techniques. Equipment is provided for students who need it (rod, reel, leader material and flies). RIT does not provide transportation. **Fee: A course fee applied via SFS bill. See Course Notes for course fee information.**
