Rock Climbing- Indoor Top Roping

Catalog description

This class is designed to introduce and educate students about the sport of indoor top roping. Top roping is a form of rock climbing that uses ropes and harnesses; working in pairs climbers alternate between belaying and climbing to a fixed point at the top of a wall. Subject matter will cover a variety of top roping skills including belaying, rope management, route finding, equipment use, as well as safety practices and protocols specific to indoor top roping. Each class will consist of a lecture, demonstration and practice components allowing students to learn and practice the skills presented.
