Scholarly Foundations & Capstone Development

Catalog description

Building on the research inquiry in occupational therapy (WSHN 700) this course advances students’ scholarly competencies in preparation for their research project while introducing the foundations of capstone development. Students will be introduced to the Capstone process and student/faculty responsibilities and will engage in an examination of their interest areas(s) for the capstone experience and related project. Students will participate in various preparatory activities and learning experiences as they relate to the designated areas that are the capstone experience (beyond the generalist level) theory development, research, advanced clinical practice, leadership, advocacy, program development, policy development, education and administration.
