Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the fundamentals from each of the primary areas of the networking, security and systems administration (NSSA) domain. Students will develop a collective view of the NSSA field as they experience and integrate the perspectives of the sub-domain areas. Students will carry this perspective into the other supporting coursework of their degree program. Topics will focus on the core concepts in the three areas: 1.) wired and wireless networking; 2.) system and network security and awareness, and 3.) systems administration. Emerging technologies in each of the areas will be explored. A project and case studies will be used as the basis for exploring and interrelating each of the fundamental topics.
