Catalog description

Review of the fundamentals of momentum, energy and mass transport within the context of biological systems ranging from the organelles in cells to whole plants and animals and their environments. Use of theoretical equations and empirical relations to model and predict the characteristics of diffusive, convective and radiative transport in complex biological systems and their environments. Emphasis is placed on the physical understanding of these systems through the construction of simplified mathematical models amenable to analytical, numerical or statistical formulations and solutions.
