Catalog description

This course focuses on the design concept process. Critical product attributes specified by the customer are applied to the product, process design and performance parameters. Tools and techniques include understanding the product life cycle from conception through obsolescence, translating the voice of the customer into technical requirements, defining functions to fulfill the requirements, generating designs to physically fulfill the functions, product/system validation, and the evaluation and selection of superior product and subsystem designs that are safe to take to commercialization. Students may not take and receive credit for this course if they have already taken MCET-670 .
