This skills-based course explores theories and practices in conflict resolution, group work, and leadership. Covering negotiation, mediation, arbitration, neutrality-based roles, and community justice practices such as restorative and transformative methods, it addresses a range of conflict types and effective resolution techniques. Through lectures, experiential group work, role-plays, and guest presentations, students will examine the cultural and ethical complexities of conflict, power imbalances, implicit biases, group dynamics and facilitation, dual relationships, and accountability practices. Practical skills for conflict resolution and group management across interpersonal, organizational, and community contexts are emphasized.
