Introduction to Legal Interpreting

Catalog description

This course will introduce students to the field of legal interpreting. Students will learn about the legal and judicial systems while examining the role, function, ethics, safeguards and challenges of interpreting in legal and courtroom settings. Students will employ a multidisciplinary approach to learning about legal interpreting through legal research and writing, observation, guest lecturers, and interpreting practice.
