Catalog description

Campus Ecology is an active learning course where students will explore how culture, art, science, and design influence our views and understanding of nature and how these disciplines can improve communication and understanding of ecological concepts and help society embrace sustainability goals. Through class projects, students will learn how humans have impacted life sustaining ecosystem services and functions, and how those impacts can be mitigated or avoided by using examples provided by nature to influence more sustainable development and maintain (or even enhance) ecological functions and services in developed landscapes.
