Catalog description

This project-based course focuses on the ability to apply a fundamental and creative approach to design theory, practice, and implementation. Students will be exposed to a variety of experimental and creative techniques to explore topics, developing their creativity and methods to better enhance their design practice. Topics will vary and will be determined by the instructor. Potential topics include: advanced typographic techniques, design research and implementation, design thinking, design for social good, creative coding, 3D, and mixed media. The course will focus on professional design work, exploratory measures, and real-world projects. This course can be repeated twice with different topics.
