Art of Islam: The Arabic Tradition

Catalog description

A survey of artistic traditions (to include architecture, decorative arts [metalware, ceramics, glass, wood], art of the book and painting) from the 7th century until the Mongol conquests in the 13th century in countries from Asia, Africa, and Europe that were influenced by the religion of Islam. There will be opportunity for each student to pursue special interests in depth.
