Catalog description

This course blends an insurance industry survey with applied insurer and agency operations and the major lines of business. Through practitioner perspectives, the course starts with a panoramic view of the insurance sector, including property-casualty, life and health, and reinsurance. The discussions then move into the insurance industry regulations and day-to-day mechanics that make insurers work: underwriting, ratemaking basics, reinsurance structures, claims adjusting, and loss control, etc. Line-of-business modules cover life & health insurance, property & liability insurance, etc.
