Psychology of Athletic Injury

Catalog description

Psychological and social experiences are as relevant to athletic injury as physical experiences. This course explores the interrelationship of physical, psychological, and social factors on the antecedents, responses, and treatments of athletic injuries. Through lecture, case studies, and utilizing relevant assessments, students will learn strategies to facilitate adherence to athletic injury prevention and rehabilitation programs as well as the basics of psychological interventions in athletic health care.
