Catalog description

The course is designed to provide ultrasound students with an understanding of critical issues in ultrasound and provide students with an opportunity to be exposed to theoretical and didactic knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy through “hands-on” experience by performing basic, general ultrasound examinations while adhering to general ergonomic guidelines. Emphasis is placed on relational anatomy and structure identification using ultrasound equipment. Students will be required to create and label ultrasound images of specific anatomical structures. This course will also introduce students to hospital administrative policies, procedures and work flow strategies as they pertain to ultrasound. Medico-legal aspects and basic applied ultrasound physics will be emphasized.
