Peer Support Specialist Practicum

Catalog description

Peer support specialist preparation related to addictions and substance use disorders. Opportunity for students to use their developed knowledge and skills in an applied setting with supervision. Note: ASD147 requires completion of 200 hours of practice experience. Course has not been approved by any state's Department of Health Services/Department of Behavioral Services (DHS) and may not lead to certification as a Peer Support Specialist/Recovery Support Specialist by DHS. Completion of ASD146 and ASD147 may lead to certification as a National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist by the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals (NCC AP) or in Peer Recovery by the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC). Prerequisites: None. Corequisites: ASD146.
