Catalog description

How does great theatre get created? Who puts all the individual pieces together to go from an idea for a production to an amazing performance in front of an audience? Professionals recognize that it can only happen with collaboration. While the whole is made up of many individual parts, only together can we create a unified vision that brings the dream into reality. This course is designed to give students the tools and skills necessary to prosper in the collaborative theatre environment. We will work together to understand the structure of leadership when working collaboratively. We will discuss methods to achieve a unified vision during preparation, planning, production, and presenting. And we will address challenges that may arise and how to overcome them. Through a series of activities and projects, you will prepare yourself to create theatre in collaboration with other artists.
