Catalog description

This course introduces students to the discipline of history and to the skills needed for its pursuit. Students will learn to analyze and evaluate primary sources and to identify the thesis and argument of secondary sources, as well as to locate sources using library databases. They will complete a short research paper in which they put these skills into practice. The seminar is for History majors in the first semester of their freshman year only. Enrollment limited to 16.
