Catalog description

This course will examine the advanced concepts of assessment and differential diagnosis in advanced practice, psychiatric-mental health nursing. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM–5) will be used in clinical decision making to determine screening, assessment, diagnostic studies, and differential diagnoses for psychiatric disorders across the lifespan. A holistic approach to assessment will be incorporated by examining social, genetic, cultural, ethnic, and gender elements in psychiatric illnesses.
