Catalog description
Provides a constructive and critical framework for the development of independently conceived projects in documentary, non-fiction, or hybrid forms of film and video. Historical and contemporary texts situate non-traditional, experimental, and interdisciplinary documentary practice within a larger cultural, historical, technological, and socio-political framework. Special attention placed on the historical and critical examination of seeking “truth” and “objectivity,” the interrogation of historical approaches to ethnographic film and video, and the contemporary shift towards anti-ethnographic frameworks and practices.
