Catalog description

Explores ethnography as a communication research method. Ethnography involves participant observation of a community in a naturalistic setting combined with other forms of data collection such as interviews, artifact analysis, and textual analysis. Students will propose a specific community to study, conduct field observations and data collection, analyze data through the lens of various conceptual approaches, and author a critical ethnography of that community by the end of this course.
