Exploration of Latinx representations in U.S. film and television. Through the medium of film and television, themes such as immigration, gender, ethnicity and race, and the policing of Brown bodies will provide an exploration of the diversity of the Latinx population in the US and the key socio-political issues Latinxs face. Discussions of various films and television series that feature Latinx characters, actors, and stories, will allow for an overview of the growing minority population in the US while also introducing the terms and skills necessary for audiovisual analysis.
