Catalog description
Study food's role as an identity-building component in communities and society. Exploring food-related cultural, economic, and social practices through cooking lessons, close reading, research, creative writing, and community engagement will take students on a sensorial-based path of reflection about the rituals of handling, preparation, and consumption of food that define individual and collective identities as well as patterns of taste and nutrition. Generally offered every two years in fall.
