Specialty Exams, Urinalysis, and Microbiology

Catalog description

Specialty examinations are presented in this course, including obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics, male reproductive, gerontology, and other examinations of the body. Urinalysis, one of the most frequently performed procedures in the medical office laboratory, is addressed in this c ourse as well. Basic microbiology principles and procedures are also covered. Coursework includes an introduction to medical terminology; the structure, function, and pathophysiology of the urinary system; male and female reproductive systems; obstetrics; and child health.
