Assessment & Methods in Literacy Intervention in Early Childhood

In this course, Relay students will administer literacy assessments to learn more about their birth-age eight students’ academic growth and achievement. They will spend time analyzing the assessment data to leverage student strengths and identify a literacy area of need. Using this information, they will create a literacy-focused instructional plan that includes annual goals, short-term goals, and weekly objectives that support literacy development. Relay students will then deepen their understanding of how to design and implement specialized literacy instruction that drives toward academic goals in Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 settings.
