Arkansas History (3 credit hours – Arkansas only) This course is designed to introduce students to the political, economic, social, and cultural development of Arkansas from Indigenous communities to the present day. Special emphasis is placed on the contributions of Arkansas to its region and nation. This course asks students to think about thinking. Students are provided the tools to plan, analyze, reflect in ways that will allow them to learn new skills, transfer their knowledge and skills to new contexts, and develop learning goals as they move toward mastery. Current research on thinking and learning is covered with a focus on knowledge of resources, study techniques, writing skills, critical thinking skills, motivation and self-efficacy.
