Catalog description

This course is designed to engage students in evidence-based methods of literacy instruction that focus on the application of literacy skills and how to adjust, assess, and support students with dyslexia and other language-based learning Reach University Course Catalog 2026-27 6 disorders. LIT 303 provides an overview of dyslexia and other language-based learning disorders and how they impact the acquisition and application of reading skills, opportunities for students to build knowledge of literacy assessments, and in-depth experience with how to provide targeted interventions and support for students who struggle with reading. Course instruction and activities will prepare candidates to support diverse learner populations and students with disabilities in the development of reading skills. Satisfactory completion of the course will prepare students to pass the Reading and English Language Arts portions of state-mandated teacher licensure exams.
