Catalog description
This course teaches students how to collect, analyze, and visualize various types of online and traditional data. The course covers topic and content areas that include applying the scientific method, understanding the qualitative and quantitative paradigms of research, deciphering and understanding different data types, the best practices in data storytelling, data analysis and collection techniques, and using popular data analysis and visualization software programs. REAL Area R Note(s): Scientific and Quantitative Reasoning designated course. May be repeated, but no more than 9 hours of COMS 484 and/or COMS 450 may be taken for credit. Previous prerequisites removed
