Practicum in Professional School Counseling

Catalog description

Prerequisites: COED 611 , COED 612 , and COED 617 and approval of chairperson one semester prior to registration. COED 611 requires a grade of “B” or higher. A minimum 100-hour field placement in an appropriate P-12 school setting providing at least 40 direct counseling hours in individual and group counseling to students under the supervision of an experienced counselor. Emphasis will be placed on the social/emotional, academic, and career concerns of P-12 students. Requires completed placement application and approval of program coordinator. Note(s): Liability insurance required.
